There are many reasons why people choose to trust and serve God. Some people may have a personal experience that led them to Him, while others may have grown up in a home where God was always talked about.
No matter what the reason is, there are countless benefits to trusting and serving God. In this blog post, we will discuss 15 of the most important reasons why you should put your faith in Him!
1. God’s Word Is Absolutely And Completely True
And now, O Lord GOD, you are God, and your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant (2 Samuel 7:28).
The Word of God is real in its divine strength, and it can function only for those who believe. The natural man cannot see the truth in the word of God, but the child of God must see the living truth of His word.
When the Word of God takes precedence in people’s hearts, it has the power to change their lives and free them from the slavery of the devil. Praying according to the Word of God, putting first things first often yields results.
2. God Does Not Lie
God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? (Numbers 23:19)
Human beings lie and cheat others. Yet God is truly and infinitely holy. He can’t lie. Satan would try to make us doubt the reality of God. So the question is still what am I going to believe – my eyes, my thoughts, my own evaluation of things, or the word of God? God is not lying, and He has never lied. That’s why we can trust in God.
3. God Never Changes In His Being
Humans tend to change with time. We’re changing physically as we grow older. Over the years, we have changed our tastes and interests. God never changes his being. He is the same for yesterday, today and forever. Therefore we can trust God as He never changes.
4. He Will Never Leave Us Or Forget Us
He made us, put his breath into us, and we cannot be forgotten by Him. His word promises that while the child she bore might be forgotten by a mother, he will not be able to forget us.
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands, He says. Isaiah 49:15-16. We sometimes forget God in our good times and seek Him only in our bad and worst situations, but God always remembers us and never leaves us in any of our circumstances.
5. God Is Not Surprised Or Baffled At Your Situation
There is nothing new under the sun. God has seen it all, heard it all, knows it all.
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again. Ecclesiastes 1:9
Since nothing can shake him, we can go to him with all our worries and concerns. He hems us back and forth and holds his hand over us. Nothing about our condition would shock God. (Psalm 139:5) In that knowledge, we can trust Him to be our rock, our firm unwavering foundation.
6. God Has Never Failed to Fulfill His Word
Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass (Joshua 21:45).
God fulfilled every single promise to the Israelites that he made. He took them out of slavery and into the land which was promised. All their enemies were subdued by Him. Not one of his promises of good has broken. We may believe in God because He has never failed to fulfill His promise.
7. God Is Sovereign Over All Things
We can make promises, but conditions can stop us from keeping them. But there can be nothing to hinder God. He is sovereign over every single molecule in the universe.
He is sovereign over the angels of heaven and over any devil. Satan and all his minions together cannot keep God from saving people, caring for us, and fulfilling His plans for us.
8. God Is Infinitely Wise
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! (Romans 11:33)
It would be a terrifying world if God were not infinitely smart. But because he does, he knows what’s best to do in any instance. Since He’s infinitely wise, His promises are perfect. Since He is infinitely intelligent, everything He said is real and great and best for us. We can trust Him, therefore.
9. God Is Faithful
God is faithful to everyone. What a beautiful reality to us. We may put our lives at the hands of His faithfulness. Yet God is never going to disappoint us. He will never forget to fulfill any good promise He has made. We can also believe Him.
10. God Is Infinitely Loving
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love (1 John 4:8).
If God was not loving, what a frightening world this would be. But we should trust Him because He is. We can trust that every single thing He does in our lives, that encourages and works for our good because He loves us.
11. He Gave His Son For Us
The fact that God has given us His most precious gift is the supreme proof of His love. If God has given us the most precious gift he might give us, will he not give us any other good thing? Since God has sent Jesus to pay for our sins and to give us eternal life, we can trust Him.
12. Nothing Is Too Hard For God
Ah, sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You. Jeremiah 32:17
Period. Did you see that? It’s not a question mark or an exclamation point. It’s a period; fact.
Nothing. Is too hard for God.
13. God Knows Your Needs Better Than You Do, And Before You Do
Psalm 139:3 states that the creator of your soul is acquainted with all your ways. So much so that the number of hairs on your head is known. Psalm twenty-three says that our shepherd, our feeder, is the Lord. And as such, we should contend that we will not lack anything good that is really important for life and godliness.
14. God Will Make You Like Christ
God not only has good plans for us, but His great plan is to conform us to Christ. Yes, He has plans to provide for us and to protect us, but what could be more encouraging than knowing God is making us into the likeness of His Son, and that every single thing we go through is the part of that plan? Trust him that He is doing that right now in your life.
15. God Is Infinitely Good
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! (Psalm 34:8)
Because God in his being and character is infinitely good, every single thing he does is good. What a rock-solid quality to put our trust in. Because God is good, we can take refuge in Him. We will never be disappointed.
