There are so many demonstrations of God’s love and protection for us and if we could t take some time to evaluate His unconditional love towards mankind, then we would make the decision to love and serve Him more.
God is our creator and His desire is to take care of us in every aspect of our lives. God’s miraculous healing and protection are still available to us today and all we need to do is to obey His word, seek Him in prayer and walk in obedience to His will.
God – Our Healer
It is God’s desire that His children maintain good health. God is aware that when we are in good health, we can also serve Him better. He says in 3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
When Jesus was on earth, He ministered to the needs of persons in various areas of their lives. With the many miracles performed and witnessed by His followers, many were drawn to Him and also received healing from their mental and physical maladies.
One example is the woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years. This woman spent all the money she had seeking help, but to no avail. In faith, she reached out to Jesus and with just one touch of His garment, she was made whole.
“… Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.” Matthew 9:22.This woman was not afraid to claim her divine healing; she did not watch the crowd, but was resolute in her decision to receive that healing touch from the miraculous healer.
That same healing touch is still available to us today and in faith, we can call on the Lord and he will provide the healing we need, according to His will. God has already redeemed us and we ought to trust in His divine power.
In Isaiah 53:5 it says “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed.”
God is awesome and for that reason, we can join the Psalmist David in saying “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases. Psalm 103:2-4
God – Our Protector
We also serve a God whose omnipresent power allows Him to dwell among us no matter where we are. David says in Psalm 139: 7-10 ” Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.” As believers, we cannot be removed from the awesome presence, comfort and support of our heavenly Father.
In faith, we can always be assured of God’s protection.
During their exodus from the Egyptian bondage, God provided guidance and protection for the Israelites on their journey. Through God’s miraculous power, the children of Israel were guided by the clouds by day and during the night; God sent the pillar of fire to provide light and comfort.
We can trust in God’s unfailing love and protection in our daily lives. He has promised that He will never leave nor forsake His children.
In Isaiah 54:17 the Lord says “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” Whether physical or emotional weapons of destruction, we can stand with courage knowing that “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:1-4. We can always be confident in God’s protection knowing that we are safely covered under His wings of love and protection.
When we meditate on our miraculous healer and constant protector, it is hard not to serve Him and thank Him for his goodness towards mankind. David says in “Psalm 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
We should not just serve, but we should be joyful in service to God. Our love for God should prompt us to serve Him. God will not force us to serve Him but when we come to learn more about His character and understand the love that He has for us, we will live a life of service to Him.
God deserves our wholehearted service and His goodness towards us should prompt us to live a life of service to Him so that at the end of life’s sojourn, like Paul we can boldly say “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8.
