Can Christians Believe in Reincarnation?

Reincarnation is the belief that after we die, our soul is reborn into another human body. This cycle of birth and death is known as samsara.

There are many different reincarnation beliefs around the world, but the concept of rebirth is actually found in some Christian teachings.

For example, in the book of Matthew, Jesus says to his disciples: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:23)

In this passage, Jesus is talking about how we need to have childlike faith in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. But some people interpret this as meaning that we need to be reborn into a new life after we die.

What Does The Bible Say About Reincarnation?

There are a few passages in the Bible that seem to suggest that reincarnation is a possibility. In the book of Ecclesiastes, it says “there is nothing new under the sun.” This could be interpreted to mean that everything that has happened before will happen again.

Additionally, in Mark 9:23 and 9:13, Jesus says to his disciples “if you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. And I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished.”

Some people interpret this passage to mean that Elijah (a prophet in the Bible) has reincarnated into John the Baptist.

However, there are also many passages in the Bible that suggest that reincarnation is not a possibility. For example, in John 14:3, Jesus says “I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

This passage seems to suggest that once we die, we go to heaven or hell and don’t come back.

Additionally, in Romans 12:19-21, it says “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. On the contrary: ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.'”

This passage suggests that we should leave revenge up to God and not try to take it into our own hands.

So what does the Bible really say about reincarnation? There are a few passages that could be interpreted to mean that it is a possibility, but there are also many passages that suggest it is not.
