Forgiveness is a character of love. For no man can forgive without love. Jesus said this when he was asked by the people which command was the greatest:
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:30-31 ESV
When you forgive those who hurt you, you not only get forgiveness from the Father as well, but you also are doing yourself a world of good by letting go of everything that disturbs your peace.
Here is another Bible verse on forgiveness; “But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:7 ESV
