How To Trust God Even When Things are Hard and Difficult

Overcoming Fear With Faith

Trusting God during hard and difficult time is never easy. Life can be really, really hard sometimes.

Maybe you feel sad, scared, or even mad when things don’t go your way.

You might wonder, “Where is God when it hurts?” It’s okay to feel this way.

God knows you hurt, and He wants to help you. Here’s why we should trust God even when it’s hard:

God is Always Good

First, remember that God is always good. He loves you very, very much, like the best mom or dad you could ever imagine.

Even when we don’t understand why bad things happen, God is still good and kind. He is a good Father.

Why Things Get Hard

Our world got a little broken a long, long time ago when people started to make bad choices. This made bad things, like pain and sadness, come into the world.

It’s like a favorite toy that got messed up. God didn’t want this to happen. He wants everything to be good and perfect!

Sometimes, when things hurt a lot, it’s like God is speaking loudly to us. He is telling us that something is wrong with the world and that we need His help. It’s not a punishment; it’s a call to look to Him.

Jesus Came to Help

God loves us so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to Earth. Jesus came to show us how much God cares. He lived like us, felt sad like us, and even hurt like us.

He never told sick people to just “accept” their pain. Instead, He healed them and showed them love. Jesus showed us that God does not enjoy seeing us suffer.

Jesus died on a cross and then came back to life! This amazing thing means that bad things like pain, sadness, and even death don’t win in the end.

Jesus has already won the most important fight! His death and coming back to life give us hope.

What Does Trusting God Mean?

Trusting God is like holding onto a strong hand when you’re walking in the dark.

It means believing that God will help you, even when you can’t see the way forward.

It’s not always easy, and sometimes our feelings want to tell us different things. But God never changes. He is always the same, good and strong.

The Bible tells us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) So you can always trust Him.

Here are some simple ways to trust God:

Talk to God (Pray!)

God wants to hear everything you feel, both the good and the hard stuff. When you are worried or sad, talk to Him about it. He cares about every tear you cry.

The Bible says, “Give all your worries to God, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) It also says, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book.” (Psalm 56:8)

Read God’s Special Book (The Bible)

The Bible is God’s special book. It tells us stories about how God helped people in hard times.

It reminds us that God is always true and good. When you read it, you learn about His big plan and how much He loves you.

The Bible guides us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Don’t Try to Figure Everything Out

It’s okay not to know all the answers. God has a big, good plan that we can’t always see.

Just like a little kid trusts their grown-up, we can trust God to take care of us, even when things don’t make sense.

The Bible promises us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28) This means God can make good come even from hard times.

Find Good Friends to Help You

You don’t have to be alone when things are hard.

God gives us friends and family who also love Him. They can listen, hug you, and remind you that God is good.

They can pray with you and help you feel His love. The Bible says, “God comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” (2 Corinthians 1:4)

Be Thankful

Even when things are tough, there are always good things to be thankful for. Maybe it’s a sunny day, a yummy meal, or a kind word.

When we look for the good, it helps us feel better and remember God’s kindness.

The Bible tells us to, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Remember God’s Promise of a New World

This world isn’t all there is. God has promised a brand new world, a perfect place where there will be no more sadness, no more crying, and no more pain!

Thinking about this happy future helps us be strong now.

The Bible says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9) And in that new world, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

God Is With You!

When life gets hard, remember God is always with you. He is not far away. He is close, especially when you hurt.

He promises to be with you wherever you go. He wants you to keep trying and not give up.

These hard times can make your faith grow big and strong!

The Bible says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” (James 1:2-3) These hard times are like a test that helps your faith get stronger, like muscles!

Even when things are difficult, choose to trust God with all your heart.

He loves you, He is with you, and He will make everything new and wonderful one day. Keep holding His hand!
