Christianity is more than just attending church on Sunday and reading the Bible.

In order to walk in Christianity, you have to know what it means to be a Christian.

Christianity is about so much more than attending services or reading the Bible – it’s a complete way of life.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t need to know these things as a Christian; these are essential truths that can help you grow in your faith and serve as a reminder of who you are in Christ.

Great Christians are made, not born.

You can become an even greater Christian by devoting time to studying what it means to be a Christian and different ways that Christians have lived their faith through the centuries.

If you’re ready to take your Christianity to the next level, read on for 25 things every Christian should know.

1. Jesus was a real person who died on the cross and rose from the dead

The Bible tells us that Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem and grew up in Nazareth.

As an adult, he began preaching about God’s love and forgiveness.

He quickly gained a large following, but he also made enemies among the religious leaders of his day.

Eventually, these enemies had him arrested and put on trial.

Even though he was innocent, Jesus was sentenced to death by crucifixion.

But death could not hold him, and three days after his crucifixion, Jesus rose from the dead.

Today, millions of people around the world continue to follow his teachings because they know that he is alive in their hearts.

2. When Jesus returns, he will judge the living and the dead

Many people have their own ideas about what will happen when we die.

Some believe that we will simply cease to exist, while others think that we will be reincarnated into another life form.

However, according to the Bible, when Jesus returns, he will judge the living and the dead.

This judgment will determine who goes to heaven and who goes to hell.

The Bible says that those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior will be forgiven and allowed into heaven.

However, those who have rejected Jesus will be condemned to hell for eternity.

This judgment is final and there is no appeal.

So, it is important to make sure that you are ready for it.

If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Savior, now is the time to do so.

Don’t wait until it’s too late.

3. Jesus is the only way to know God

Jesus, Himself said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

This is a pretty clear statement, and it raises an important question: why did Jesus say that He is the only way?

If God is love (1 John 4:8), then surely He would want as many people as possible to know Him.

So why did Jesus claim to be the only way?

The answer lies in our understanding of who God is.

Christianity teaches that God is holy—completely separate from sin.

His very nature demands justice, and His righteousness cannot allow sin to go unpunished.

The penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23), but because God loves us, He sent His Son to die in our place (John 3:16).

Through faith in Jesus Christ, our sins can be forgiven and we can be reconciled to God.

In this way, Jesus becomes the only way for us to know God because He is the only One who can bridge the divide between a holy God and sinful humanity.

4. We need to be baptized in order to receive forgiveness

Baptism is an important step in our journey of faith.

It is through baptism that we receive forgiveness for our sins and are welcomed into God’s family.

When we are baptized, we publicly declare our faith in Jesus Christ and our commitment to follow him.

We also receive the Holy Spirit, who gives us strength to live a faithful life.

Baptism is not a requirement for salvation, but it is a powerful symbol of our desire to be forgiven and to follow Jesus.

If you have not been baptized, I encourage you to take this step on your faith journey.

It is a decision that you will never regret.

5. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ

Have you ever wondered how you could be good enough for God?

The truth is, you can’t.

You could never be perfect, no matter how hard you tried.

But that’s okay because God loves you just the way you are.

And because of His great love for us, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins.

By grace through faith in Jesus Christ, we can be saved from our sins and have eternal life with God.

It’s a free gift from God- all we have to do is accept it.

Won’t you come to Jesus today and let Him save you?

He is waiting with open arms.

6. We need to obey God’s commands

God has given us commands for our good. When we obey His commands, we are blessed.

He wants us to have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10).

When we choose to disobey His commands, we bring consequences upon ourselves.

Sin always has consequences.

It may not be immediate, but it will come.

God is just and His justice will be carried out whether we see it in this life or the next.

His commandments are not burdensome (1 John 5:3).

They are for our good and He gives us the grace to obey them.

We need to trust Him and obey His commands.

7. We need to read the Bible and pray

As Christians, we are called to develop a relationship with God through prayer and study of His Word.

Reading the Bible is essential for growing in our faith and understanding God’s will for our lives.

Through Scripture, we are able to gain wisdom and knowledge about who God is and how we can follow Him.

Prayer is also vital to our relationship with God.

It allows us to communicate with Him, express our needs, and thank Him for His blessings.

When we take the time to read the Bible and pray, we are drawing near to God and He promises to draw near to us (James 4:8).

This is a vital part of the Christian life and something that we need to make a priority.

8. We should share the gospel with others

We all have had times when we needed someone to be there for us – whether it was a hug when we were feeling low, or a shoulder to cry on during a tough time.

We may not have always realized it, but those moments of support made us feel loved and cared for.

In the same way, we should share the gospel with others because it is the Good News that can change their lives forever.

When we tell others about Jesus and His love for them, we are showing them that we care about them and want what is best for them.

It can be scary to put ourselves out there like that, but God will give us the strength and courage we need to speak His truth.

9. We should live holy lives according to God’s standards

We all want to be holy, don’t we?

To be set apart as special to God, to have a close relationship with Him.

But holiness is not something that we can achieve on our own.

We must rely on God’s grace and strength to help us live according to His standards.

And His standards are not always easy to meet.

They may require us to give up things that we enjoy or to do things that are difficult.

But when we submit to God’s will for our lives, He will bless us abundantly.

He will give us the strength to overcome any obstacle, and He will use us to further His kingdom.

10. We will face persecution because of our faith

Christians have always faced persecution.

In the early days of the Church, Christians were often tortured and killed because of their beliefs.

Today, much of the world is more tolerant of different faiths, but there are still many places where Christians suffer for their beliefs.

In some countries, Christians are not allowed to worship openly or to build churches.

In others, they may be discriminated against in education or employment.

In some parts of the world, Christians are even imprisoned or killed because of their faith.

Despite the challenges, Christians remain committed to following Christ and sharing his message of love and forgiveness with the world.

Because of their faith, they are willing to suffer persecution, knowing that ultimately God will triumph over evil.

11. We need to be prepared to defend our faith

Many people today scoff at the idea of faith, believing that it is nothing more than a crutch for weak-minded people.

However, as believers, we know that faith is essential for our relationship with God.

Without faith, it would be impossible to please God or to receive his forgiveness.

Additionally, faith is not a static quality; it is something that must be regularly nurtured and defended.

As the world around us becomes increasingly hostile to Christianity, we need to be prepared to defend our faith.

This doesn’t mean that we should go looking for conflicts or become combative in our interactions with others.

Instead, we should be thoughtful and diplomatic in our approach, always being ready to give a reason for the hope that we have within us (1 Peter 3:15).

12. We should be witnesses for Jesus Christ

As Christians, we are called to be witnesses for Jesus Christ.

This means sharing the gospel with those who do not know Christ and leading them to a personal relationship with Him.

There are many ways to be a witness for Christ.

We can share our testimony of how Christ has changed our lives.

We can also share the gospel through our actions by living out our faith in a way that points others to Christ.

In addition, we can pray for opportunities to share the gospel with those around us.

When we are witnesses for Christ, we have the opportunity to lead others to eternal life in Him.

13. We should share our testimony with others

In life, we all face challenges.

Some are big, some are small, but we all have our own unique set of trials and tribulations.

While it can be difficult to talk about our struggles, it is also important to remember that we are not alone.

By sharing our testimony with others, we can offer hope and encouragement in the midst of difficulty.

When we hear someone else’s story of triumph over adversity, it gives us strength to face our own challenges.

In addition, sharing our testimony can help to build community and foster connections with others.

When we open up about our lives, we give others permission to do the same, creating a space for meaningful conversation and connection.

14. We should have a relationship with God

Many people in the world today believe that having a relationship with God is important.

There are many reasons why this is so.

First, when we have a relationship with God, we are able to receive his love and forgiveness.

Second, we are able to ask God for help and guidance in our lives.

Third, we are able to enjoy the peace and joy that come from knowing God.

Fourth, we are able to learn about God’s will for our lives.

Fifth, we are able to grow in our faith as we walk with God.

As you can see, there are many good reasons why we should have a relationship with God.

If you have not yet established a relationship with God, I encourage you to do so today. You will be glad that you did!

15. We should love God and others

One of the most important things we can do in life is to love God and others.

When we love God, it gives us a foundation for our lives that is unshakable.

And when we love others, it fills us with joy and allows us to see the best in them.

Unfortunately, too often we focus on ourselves and what we can get out of life.

We think about our own desires and needs and how we can get ahead.

But when we do this, we miss out on the best things in life: a deep relationship with God and meaningful relationships with others.

16. We should serve God and others

We live in a world that is filled with pain and suffering.

Every day, we see people who are hurting and in need.

And every day, we have the opportunity to serve God by serving others.

When we reach out to help those in need, we are serving God.

When we comfort the grieving, we are serving God.

When we visit the sick or the lonely, we are serving God.

By serving others, we show our love for God.

We also show our love for others.

When we serve others, we relieve their pain and suffering.

We make their burdens lighter.

We bring them hope and peace.

And in so doing, we reflect the love of God to them.

As we serve God by serving others, let us remember that we are also serving Christ himself.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in … Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:35-40).

17. We should evangelize the lost

As Christians, we are called to evangelize the lost.

This can be a difficult task, but it is essential work.

After all, Jesus told us that we must go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.

So how can we effectively evangelize the lost?

First, we need to be bold in our witness.

We should not be afraid to share the gospel with those who do not know Christ.

Second, we need to be compassionate.

We should remember that everyone is lost without Christ and that they need His love and forgiveness just as much as we do.

Finally, we need to be patient.

Sometimes, it takes time for people to come to faith.

We should never give up on someone who is searching for the truth.

If we are faithful in our witness, God will use us to reach the lost for His glory.

18. We should be disciples of Jesus Christ

As Christians, one of the most important things we can do is be disciples of Jesus Christ.

What does it mean to be a disciple?

A disciple is a follower and student of someone.

In this case, we are following and learning from Jesus.

Being a disciple doesn’t mean that we will always agree with everything Jesus said and did – but it does mean that we trust Him as our Lord and Savior.

It means that we are committed to living our lives according to His teachings.

It means that we seek to imitate His character.

Simply put, being a disciple means making Jesus the center of our lives.

If you are not yet a disciple of Jesus Christ, I encourage you to take the first step today.

Pray and ask God to help you follow Jesus with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Trust in Him, and He will help you every step of the way.

19. We should obey the Great Commission

Christians believe that we should obey the Great Commission, which is the instruction given by Jesus to his followers to spread the gospel throughout the world.

There are a number of reasons why obeying the Great Commission is important.

First, it is a commandment from God.

As Christians, we are called to follow God’s commands.

Second, obeying the Great Commission is an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others.

It is our responsibility to tell others about the love and forgiveness that God offers through Jesus Christ.

Third, obeying the Great Commission helps us to grow in our faith.

As we share our faith with others, we learn more about what it means to be a follower of Christ.

Finally, obeying the Great Commission allows us to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.

As we join together in spreading the gospel, we can have a profound impact on the world around us.

20. We should make disciples of all nations

Jesus said to his disciples, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).

This Great Commission is an essential part of our faith.

It is our calling as Christians to reach out to others and share the good news of Jesus Christ.

When we make disciples of all nations, we are helping to fulfill God’s plan for humanity.

We are also blessed with the opportunity to build relationships with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

As we share our faith with others, we can learn more about God and grow in our own spiritual journeys.

Making disciples of all nations is a rewarding experience that can change lives for eternity.

21. Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments are a set of religious and moral imperatives that are central to the Judeo-Christian tradition.

According to the Bible, they were given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai and engraved on two stone tablets.

The commandments are divided into two categories, those concerned with our relationship with God and those concerned with our relationships with others.

The first four commandments deal with our duties to God, while the remaining six deal with how we are to treat other people.

In summary, the Ten Commandments can be said to promote a life of faith and love.

22. Christian values

Christian values are often boiled down to a few key tenets.

Service, thankfulness, compassion, endurance, wisdom, justice, peace, hope, creativity, and humility are all values that Christians aspire to live by.

Each of these values plays an important role in shaping how believers interact with the world around them.

Of course, different Christians will place different emphasis on different values depending on their own life experiences and worldview.

However, the overall goal is to live in a way that reflects the love and grace of God.

When Christians strive to live out these values in their daily lives, it makes the world a better place for everyone.

23. The 7 basics of Christianity

Christianity is based on the belief in one God who exists as three distinct persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he was born of a virgin.

They believe that Jesus died on the cross to save humanity from their sins and that he rose from the dead three days later.

Christians also believe in the power of prayer and the importance of living according to God’s will.

One of the most important aspects of Christianity is community.

Christ said that “where two or more are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”

The Christian community is a powerful force for good in the world, and it is one of the things that sets Christianity apart from other faiths.

Christianity is also unique in its emphasis on grace – the belief that we are all saved by God’s grace, not by our own efforts.

These are just some of the basics of Christianity – there are many more beliefs and practices that make up this rich and vibrant faith.

24. How should a Christian behave?

As Christians, we are called to follow the example of Jesus Christ and to behave in ways that reflect his love and compassion.

In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus tells us to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

This means that our primary focus should be on our relationship with God and that we should love him with all our heart, soul, and mind.

In addition, we are called to love our neighbor as ourselves.

This means that we should treat others with the same kindness, respect, and love that we would want for ourselves.

When we live out these two commandments, we are behaving in a way that is pleasing to God and that reflects his character.

25. God will never leave nor forsake us

We all go through tough times in our lives when it feels like the whole world is against us and we’re all alone.

But it’s important to remember that we’re never really alone.

God is always with us, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

He will never leave nor forsake us, no matter how dark and cold things might get.

Instead, He will be our light in the darkness and our strength when we are weak.

So when you’re feeling lost and alone, just remember that God is right there with you, holding you close and never letting go.

Carrying you in times when you need it the most.

What is the first thing a Christian should learn?

Christianity is centered around the teachings of Jesus Christ, and so the first thing a Christian should learn is what Jesus taught.

The easiest way to do this is to read the Bible, which is a collection of sacred texts that detail the life and teachings of Jesus.

However, reading the Bible can be daunting, and so many Christians start by learning about the life of Jesus from other sources, such as children’s storybooks or Sunday school lessons.

Once someone has a basic understanding of who Jesus was and what he taught, they can begin to apply his teachings to their own life.

This can be done by attending church, joining a Bible study group, or simply by living each day according to the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

By following the teachings of Jesus Christ, Christians can strive to live a life that is full of love, forgiveness, and compassion.

Summary

There are lots of things that Christians should know.

First and foremost, they should know that God loves them unconditionally.

They should also know that Jesus was fully human and fully divine and that he died on the cross to save humanity from their sins.

Additionally, Christians should know that the Bible is the Word of God and is a reliable guide for living a faithful life.

They should also be aware of the importance of prayer and worship, and of living their lives in accordance with Christ’s teachings.

Finally, Christians should know that they are called to share their faith with others and to make a difference in the world.

Knowing these things will help Christians to live faithful lives and to make a positive impact on those around them.
